Twelfth Night

Actors from the Lions part group performed Twelfth Night on London’s Bankside on Sunday, in one of their free theatre-based festivals that’s a celebration of the New Year, mixing ancient seasonal customs with contemporary festivity. To herald the celebration, the Holly Man, the winter guise of the Green Man from pagan myths and folklore, dressed in evergreen foliage appears from the River Thames by boat. The programme also includes the Bankside Wassails, The Mummers Play and the King Bean and Queen Pea.
